Education
Education was one of the founding principles of Clarendon in 1878; and the town became known as “The Athens of the Panhandle” after Clarendon College opened in 1898. Today, Clarendon College offers general education classes as well as technical training in a wide range of professions, providing opportunities for local citizens and job training for companies looking to hire. Public schools in Donley County have a strong record to stand on, and a strong home-school community is also active here.
